Ephesians 5:19 is our mission statement.  The Apostle Paul encouraged the church at Ephesus "to speak to one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord."

The original partners of Joyful Sound Promotions included Ed Parkins, Willis Rennick, Robert Jensen and Harvey Burkholder.  These four men saw gospel music concerts as an inspiring way of fulfilling Paul's admonition of "making melody to the Lord."  In March 1989, through their vision and dedication, the Cathedral Quartet was brought to Edmonton.  Bill Griffin joined these four pioneers at that time to continue to bring the glorious songs of the Gospel to Edmonton and surrounding areas.  In the following years, Joyful Sound Promotions was able to host many Southern Gospel groups of great renown and excellence in their field.  Who can forget the amazing sounds of The Speer Family, Greater Vision, The Kingsmen, The Nelons, The Dixie Melody Boys, Legacy Five, The Booth Brothers, The Hoppers, The Florida Boys, Poet Voices and, of course, the unforgettable Cathedrals?

Since January, 2007, Bill and Marg Griffin have enthusiastically taken on complete responsibility for the promotion of concerts in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta.  The American groups appreciate having three Western cities in which to minister and the continuity of the promoter's philosophy and spiritual direction.

In Calgary, Gordie and Norma Jean Reimer laid a strong foundation through hosting many, many concerts at Grace Baptist Church.  In the summer of 2006, the Reimers moved to North Carolina and turned the Calgary concert series over to Bill Griffin.

In Saskatoon, Jim and Judi Doerksen have faithfully promoted great concerts over the years.  Jim has experienced some serious health problems and is unable to continue this ministry.  Bill and Marg look forward to meeting new friends in Saskatoon who allow the Holy Spirit to minister to their lives through gospel music.
